How to Edit the Wiki

This wiki is built by our community of Boston Terrier lovers. Here’s how you can add your knowledge and help fellow owners.

Visit the TinaCMS Editor:

Note: If you don’t have access yet, contact us at info@sfbosties.org to request editor privileges.

To Create a New Page:

  1. Click “New Page” in the top-right corner
  2. Fill in the fields:
    • Title: Something descriptive like “Stern Grove Safety Tips”
    • Category: Choose from dropdown:
      • Health & Care
      • Training & Behavior
      • SF Resources
      • Community
    • Content: Write your tips, experiences, or advice in the visual editor
    • Author: Your name or “Your Dog’s Name (Your Name)”
    • Date: When you wrote this
  3. Click “Save Changes”

To Edit Existing Page:

  1. Navigate to the page you want to edit
  2. Click “Edit” button
  3. Make your changes
  4. Click “Save Changes”

When you save:

  1. TinaCMS creates a Pull Request (PR) on GitHub
  2. Jacob (or approved editors) reviews your changes
  3. Once approved, changes automatically deploy to wiki.sfbosties.org
  4. You’ll receive a notification when published!

That’s it! Your changes will be reviewed and published within 24-48 hours.

Great topics to add:

  • Your personal experiences with Boston Terriers
  • SF-specific tips (parks, weather, local resources)
  • Training methods that worked for you
  • Health tips and observations
  • Product recommendations (collars, harnesses, treats)
  • Reviews of vets, groomers, trainers
  • Photos of your Boston Terrier (with permission)

Examples:

  • “How I taught Buster to walk without pulling”
  • “Best dog-friendly cafes in the Mission District”
  • “Dr. Smith at Peninsula Vet is amazing with Bosties”
  • “My experience with cooling vests during SF summers”
  • Personal medical advice without veterinary consultation
  • Spam, promotions, or self-serving content
  • Inappropriate or offensive content
  • Others’ personal information without their permission
  • Copyrighted material you don’t have permission to use
  • Use headings (##, ###) to organize content
  • Keep paragraphs short for mobile readability
  • Use bullet points for lists
  • Add photos if helpful (upload via media library)
  • Be helpful and positive - focus on solutions
  • Be specific - “Fort Funston at 9AM” is better than “early morning”
  • Include context - “In SF’s microclimate…” helps readers
  • Be honest - share what worked and what didn’t
  • Cite sources if sharing vet advice (e.g., “According to AKC…”)
  • Medical conditions and their management
  • Preventative care tips
  • Diet and nutrition
  • Grooming guides
  • Age-related issues
  • Puppy training
  • Socialization tips
  • Behavior modification
  • Obedience training
  • Dealing with specific issues (separation anxiety, etc.)
  • Dog parks and off-leash areas

  • Meetup photos and recaps
  • Pack meetups

For Your Dog:

  • Don’t share your home address in public posts
  • Get permission before posting photos of others’ dogs
  • Protect your privacy and your dog’s

For Yourself:

  • Don’t share personal contact information publicly
  • Be careful sharing location details
  • Report inappropriate content to info@sfbosties.org
  • Can’t access the editor? Email: info@sfbosties.org
  • Editor not loading? Try clearing browser cache
